Yesterday i was thinking that how fast the year 2010 just gone by….For me it was a year of rabbit jump rather than a turtle walk, i.e. fast and furious 😛

When i look back i can say it is my favourite year because 2010 brought me the most charming beauties of my life: My Twin Boys. I experienced the feeling of motherhood for the first time and now being addicted to this precious feeling i adore my babies…

My sister gave birth as well and i became an auntie to the most lovable nephew. He is my pumpkin!

Again this year we bought a cute house, (the decoration of which i am still dealing with) that led us to a fresh start as i mentioned in my early posts.

What else?…Two of my best friends got married this year. Taking this opportunity let me wish an ever-happy life to them with their lovely wives. (Congratulations Rishi and Congratulations Sreeram) 🙂

So this was the year when my intellectual and cultural improvement slowed down yet my personal life and family bonds got an accelarated pace…

Towards the end, we already started shopping for new year gifts (my favourite shopping reason 😛 ) as well as taking new resolutions and cherishing new hopes…

Early Happy New Year To All 😀

For me it has been always a trouble to decide what to cook daily…The decision phase is problematic while the practising phase is more painful as i really don’t like cooking…Just to insert some excitement in my daily routine, today i decided to cook a home-made pizza (for the first time)…

Pizza has been one of favourite fast foods both for me and my husband…so it was a real challenge for me to come up with a delicious taste…In the end, getting rid of my lazy soul and killing all my worries, i took the challenge (but to do this i had to call my mom several times 😛 )

First of all i did shopping which was quite tiring for me as the outside was quite hot and crowded. After coming home, i began to prepare the ingredients by cutting/slicing/killing the necessary vegetables and other toppings without losing time because for me possibility is always there to give up at any phase of the process 😛

After leaving the time-consuming step behind, now it was time to bring the pieces together…

Now all i have to do was to bake it but this was the most attention-seeking step as i tend to burn things forgetting them in the oven for long while watching movie or reading book 😀 But thanksfully i managed to cook it well, and the result was quite surprising even for me with a yuummlicious pizza…yay!!

See you soon with another kitchen adventure…BON APPETIT! 🙂

I have always been a fast food fan till now let it be a cheeseburger, french fries, onion rings, pizza or fried chicken (i mean Burger King, Pizza Hut, Kentucky, etc), but suddenly on the last weekend i decided to be more careful about my daily diet and my aim was to be more healty rather than looking like a super model 😛 So i cooked some local dishes which are composed of vegetable basically and i prepared a cold salad made up of some tomato at the base, parsley, maize, walnut, lettuce and fried cheese on the top which were mixed with a little bit salt and pure olive oil. And no need to say it was really yummylicious 😀

Aaaaa Karo! :P

I have been unable to write even a single line on my blog for the past few days…I was even not able to check friends’ blogs hence i am totally unaware of the last posts (but soon to catch up with)! As for the reason, i was sick for the whole week, i caught cold and was subjected to medicine (again) 😡 Luckily, i achieved to get back my body and mind from the villains of the virus world. Meanwhile, i started to use vitamins (Seven Seas One A Day Capsule) on an advice of a friend (Thank you Fazy!) and i have been more energetic, even to enter the kitchen!!!

My readers should know firstly that i hate cooking…and they also should be informed that i have to cook (at least time to time). Today i entered the kitchen not because i had to but i wanted to in an odd way 😛 And i baked pastry with cheese to go with my cup of tea in the afternoon! Surprising, isn’t it?? 😀

Ok people….aaaaaa karo….and take your share 😛

P.S. Did you see my little assistant?? In fact she is the chief cook and i am her assistant 😛

7 pm…Saturday is in hurry to leave its seat to Sunday but i am insistent to make as much benefit as i can before it ends up! Eating too much at dinner and trapping myself in my favorite corner in the room (purple sofa where i usually lie down to have some rest), i think i need to go for a walk not to let the unwanted calories reside in my body hence i decide to execute the Plan C (which is to go to the nearest Starbucks on foot 😀 )

After a short convo with hubby, i am getting prepared, and soon we are on our way! The weather is so nice, still warm without any wind in the air or any cloud in the sky. Soon we arrive at the big Shopping Mall (Kanyon). Before going directly to Starbucks, first we visit Teknosa Shopping Center where some nice electronical devices are sold (my hubby’s favourite place 😀 ) Then we drop a visit to one of the bookstores (Remzi Kitapevi) And finally we are at the gate of Starbucks taking our places at the queue deciding what to drink. We are full so we don’t want to eat anything, and as it is too hot, we want to go for something cold. In the end, i go for Frappuccino Caramel and hubby goes for Frappuccino Vanilla.

DSC02184

There is a small artificial river flowing just in front of our table. The sound of the water is so relaxing as if i am sitting at a real river side surrounded by fresh branches.

The Shopping Mall is hosting a new theme every month decorating its square with the items of the theme. This month it is about planets, space, spaceships. It becomes the center of focus for little kids (including me 😛 )

DSC02189Here are the artificial river and the spaceships.

DSC02185And the lovely planets.

What about me? Well, i am still enjoying my delicious Frappuccino Caramel 😛

Hope everyone’s Saturday was as good as mine! 🙂

While i was setting up my room today, i heard a weak whisper calling my name, “Hey Choti!” I was surprised as i was alone in my room at the moment, there was no one else visible. I stood still for a while and concentrated on the silence of the walls and windows. There was no voice at all. “I must have been mistaken” told myself and kept on doing my work till i heard the second voice which was a bit stronger than the first one, “Hey, we are talking to you!” Now that made me freaked out. I looked around screening the whole room with my eyes before running out in screams. But then my eyes hooked on my little friends who were smiling at me as if nothing happened. “Guys, it was you, right?” They giggled altogether. “Stop laughing now! You really scared me you bad kidos.” I was angry for a second but it all disappeared when i came face to face with them; while their wide-open eyes were focused on me in anxiety being unable to guess what would my next action be, this time i burst into laughing.

“Yes kidos, what is the problem?” They kept silence for a while as if they were deciding the spokesman among them and Miss Ladybug (being the older) took the floor,

“We heard you have a blog.”

“Yes, that is true but who told you this?”

“We heard about it while you and your hubby were talking about it”

“Ahan…Ummm so?”

“We also heard you make people popular like Shah Rukh Khan or Rahul Roy so we kindly request you to make us popular as well.”

On hearing this i just couldn’t help myself laughing like anything for minutes and i could stop only when i reliazed that they were frowning with an upset face.

“Listen kidos, those people you just mentioned are already famous. Their popularity has nothing to do with me. I just share my likes or dislikes, my positive or negative thoughts or feelings on fames. Understand?”

This time baby turtle started to talk with an utmost excitement in her tone being the younger, “That means you can introduce us to your readers, and you can also kindly mention how much you love us, can’t you?”

I smiled and nodded which caused a festival atmosphere in the room supported by their clapping with their tiny, cute hands. Then they took their best posture to produce the perfect photo saying “cheese” altogether 🙂

Here we go kidos…in the below photo let me introduce you (from left to right) Miss Ladybug, Mr. Doggie (aka Indi), Miss Baby Turtle and Miss Rabbit (aka Pinkie). These are my little friends decorating my bedroom sitting in a wooden box the whole day. They are friendly, cute, warm and lovable friends. They are good at making you smile or occupying your guests’ babies at times. And most importantly, each one has its own meaning, reminding me of a time period or a moment in my life!

I love you kidos 🙂

Three weeks of vacation is over and Choti is back to type with all her “stupid” ideas stirring in her “pagal” mind 😛 First of all, i should say that i am both sad and happy at the same time. I am sad because i left great days behind, great as in peaceful and refreshing. I am happy because i am back to all the things that i missed a lot during my leave such as my typing at my laptop, reading blogs for hours, watching Hindi movies (i just watched Sirf Tum today), drinking coffee at Starbucks, visiting my favourite bookstore (D&R) and spending a fortune there ( 😦 ) and no need to mention that i missed my bed and my pillow which are the essential part of my nights with deep and long sleeps 😀

I just realized that i cannot tell you every single detail of my vacation as it needs another wholly spared blog to express fully and correctly each and every day and night but i can just make a medley of moments with some photos which i shot ‘bas tumhara liye’ (for all of my readers) 😀

My first destination was Mersin which is a city with a shore to Mediterranean. We have a summer house over there which is quite close to sea and with a cute swimming pool as you can see in the below photo. I love swimming so every morning i swam regularly which i believe kept me fit although i ate like a little bear 😛

DSC01832

I spent there great days making use of the sun, sea and sand mixture to the fullest! And my next destination was my hometown Zonguldak which is a city with a shore to Black Sea. I visited my parents there and participated my cousin’s wedding. It was such an awesome feeling to be among the people i love and to meet with all those familiar faces let it be some relatives, some friends or neighbors.

I played with the cats during the days which my sister keeps within her garden. One is still a kitty and the other one is her mother. They are quite naughty but my sister is able to sooth them. I should say they are extremely cuttteeeeee. Don’t you believe me??? Ah! See yourself!

DSC02037

They are having a nap after the lunch. See how the baby is hugging her mom 🙂 Other cutie pies that i met during my visit were my cousins. They were just babies when i last saw them and now it is hard to believe that they are teenages. Does it mean i am getting older? Oh, no! 😛 Good news is i have too many cousins and there are still some babies among them, and i achieved to catch one of them again eating something which is his favourite timepass 😀 While he was eating his cookie, i was just planning to bite his ‘choti choti’ hands 😛

DSC02055

Other than playing with cats and meeting my lovely cousins, i spent some time in the garden where my mom grows some fresh vegetable like tomato, cucumber, green pepper, eggplant, etc. I should say when it is from your own garden, the vegetable is much more delicious as it is grown with love and care coming from a mom’s heart! 🙂

DSC01993

There are still too much to tell you but unfortunately i have neither time nor energy to mention each and everything here but still these are the main points making my vacation a great time spent with great joy. And i hope you can also enjoy while reading as much as i did while experiencing 🙂

DSC01797The office was too busy today (which has been the case most of the time)…Everyone was working like hard-working bees (including me) as if trying to make the most delicious honey or like ants as if getting prepared for winter in hurry…No matter how much work we did till noon, everyone was thinking of the lunch which would be a gathering of our department at a sea-side restaurant across the Bosphorus.

Everyone was so chic like a princess (including me) wearing her best dress to look gorgeous in the ball.

As soon as the the clocks of PCs showed the noon with their silent alarms, we DSC01817rushed to cars to get on the way as soon as possible. When we reached there, it was really worth it. The view of the Bosphorus was just breath-taking. I took a few photos to share with you but they don’t reflect its real beauty in fact. Still you can have an idea at least. On such days, when i am face to face with the inner beauty of İstanbul, i can’t help thinking that it is like a living city with a soul observing all the people taking shelter under its roof…

After getting seated and served with so many delicious dishes, the delight surrounding our minds and hearts just doubled. After eating up everything to the end, filling our noses with the smell of sea, listening to the music giving  some mystical athmosphere to the environment, drinking our Turkish coffee to keep the last unforgettable taste on our tongues, the most difficult thing was to be able to go back to office to finish the incomplete tasks. But we achieved to return with smiling faces and worked happily ever after 🙂

Little Pickle!

Dinner time around 7 pm…i am trying to set the table patiently after a tiring day at office (as usual)…Plates, forks, spoons, bread, deliciously-cooked dishes (of course by me)…everything is ready now…although i don’t like much, i am feeling like eating some pickle… i opened the fridge to get the pickle jar….opened its lid and chose one among many…and i got shocked!!!

The one i selected and separated from his friends looked so sad to me…i thought i should send him back to the jar but then i have to choose another one…so what is the difference…i carried on and put him onto a plate…he looked more sad this time like ready to cry…i decided that i can’t eat it 😦

i called my husband and showed the little pickle to him…he just laughed and said “Don’t worry, he will feel fine in my stomach”…still i wasn’t comfortable considering little pickle’s down looks…then he took place on the table and i tried not to look at him during the dinner time…and when my eyes searched for him the next time, he was already gone 😮

Little pickle….rest in peace…

Oh by the way i kept a small memory of him…now it is up to you to decide how would you react after seeing such a cute and sad pickle coming out of a jar!

I do not know how many times i promised myself to eat healthy food only leaving the fast food and acidic drinks aside. Today it was one of those days. When i woke up i had a light breakfast and for dinner i cooked only vegetables. During lunch time i was so hungry that i was stuck between eating pizza+coke and having just some light snack. At last i decided to invent my own light food which is composed of yoghurt, wheat, cornflakes, dry fruits and walnut. It was quite delicious as well as being nutritive 😀

dsc01677

Doesn’t it seem quite appetizing? Apart from being delightful, it also made me overcome my desire for a huge extravaganza pizza. I do not know for how many days i can maintain without any fast food, coke or some heavy dessert but considering the summer is at the door, i should think of myself much more now, right? 😆

Bookmarks…

Being fond of reading, i always have tendency to get more and more books although i have less and less time especially lately. Every night i pick up a book to be read in bed just before sleeping but i always stay behind my target page as the desire to sleep always overcomes!

Meanwhile i found out another tendency of mine, which is to keep bookmarks in various size, shape and design among the pages. I am not one of those readers who can mark the page even with a piece of simple paper or a pen. I always look for a new and an interesting one!  After discovering this “hobby” of mine, friends also started to find quite distinct bookmarks for me. Here is the one gifted last week to me by one of my colleagues which was purchased from Japan.

dsc016651

It is made of golden yellow metal which has a Japanese house figure seen among some tree branches which you can see in the below photo more clearly…

dsc01673

I just loved it. Let me thank my friend here 🙂 And please do not hesitate to share with me the bookmarks you find interesting!

Last night i was so tired that i fall asleep around 10:30 pm as soon as i got back from the cinema (Hubby and me went to see “The Horsemen” which was not a perfect but an average movie).

When i woke up this morning, the first thing i did was to check the weather and as a matter of chance it was sunny after so many snowy and rainy chain of days. Hence i thought i should not waste this lovely day and planned a visit to my University Campus (Boğaziçi University).

dsc00073

It is located just beside the sea (bosphorus) and full of green fields away from the noisy routine of the city.

dsc00060

So after informing hubby about my plan, we were ready to go in 10 minutes. Taking two busses we were there just in 35 minutes. First we had a breakfast at our favourite cafe during our study years and talked about the past for a while (which made me feel a bit old lol). Then we followed the path going through the campus getting something to read while taking both a body and a mind rest across the sea.

dsc00064

There were too many cats and dogs around as usual, some were sleeping under the sun and the others were running after food as usual:)

dsc00059

Although the weather was a bit windy, it did not stop us from having some sunshine, and the environment had a spring view with all those blossoming trees and colorful flowers.

dsc00063

As i forgat my camera at home, i took all those photos with the camera of my cell phone. Still they do not look so bad, right?

All in all it was a lovely day which i had been missing all throughout those snowy and freezing days. It was like a messenger rendering that the spring was quite near. So as i am quite fed up with winter, my hopes for better days just refreshed:)

At lasttttt at lastttt the letter which was sent for my birthday from New Delhi has just reached me today after almost 13 days!!! I was so looking forward to it because each letter sent by my friends from India has the traces of Shah Rukh Khan in a way or another 😀

Apart from wishing me for my belated birthday and placing some hindi sentences in between the lines together with their English counterparts as in the way i find it practical (:P), the letter was talking about King Khan as i guessed it….the parts with SRK were a bit tricky though 😀

Well i take this opportunity to thank New Delhi for the kind wishes sent to me, for the long letter written without feeling any boredom and for K-k-k-i-i-i-i-r-r-a-a-n-n saga included in it:)

Season of Dead Umbrellas…

I woke up early in the morning and hearing the sound of rain hitting on my window i went back to sleep eagerly just hugging my blanket more and more. Then i woke up at noon, yea lazy lamhe….But this time i got out of bed and got dressed to go out for breakfast…

I opened the curtains to see the weather was still rainy and cold. I don’t like umbrellas for no reason, i just don’t feel like carrying them. So again instead of an umbrella i took my cap with me.

The weird thing was that all through the way till the bus stop, i saw at least 10 broken umbrellas left on the roadsides. The wind must have been so strong last night so that so many weak umbrellas lost the game against it.

See the photo below i took this morning. I still don’t like umbrellas but i felt sorry for them after seeing them like that…This winter became the season of dead umbrellas rather than a snowman!

Lazy Lamhe…

Today surprisingly i woke up early. Prepared a huge breakfast and ate like a little bear:P Then did some cleaning…that was all…it was just noon and i had completed every task already and the whole Sunday was lying just in front of me…I made some phone calls but they lasted for just 3o minutes…then i decided to see a movie and i chose “No Smoking” by John Abraham and Ayesha Takia…but before that i thought to make a Turkish coffe…For the ones who never tasted it, it is just yummyylicious (thanks to Faraz for adding this word into my dictionary:D)

dsc016061
Now i am at the stage of drinking it…anyone volunteer to join me? 😛
